Sarah MacKusick Mills is the owner and Trainer of Iron Star Equestrian in #Havana, FL, a boarding and training facility with a focus on eventing. She is a very accomplished equestrian herself, and a trainer who is passionate about developing riders who have strong basics and excellent horsemanship. She has been a friend of mine for years, ever since she bought my little paint filly, Cherokee, who she trained and turned into a wonderful little horse! We've kept up over the years and I've taken photos for her off and on - including her wedding! I've also taken a lesson or two from her in the past and photographed a couple of her #Trakehner babies, including Charley (seen in the photo above), her adorable and gorgeous home-bred baby. I've been so excited to see them enter their show career!
Of course I started seeing more of her as we began attending and photographing horse shows around the area. Early this year I contacted her about starting riding lessons at her barn, since I don't currently have a rideable horse. Taking lessons and trying my hand at show jumping is something I've always wanted to do, and getting to ride and learn and grow as an #equestrian AND an #equine #photographer has been so much fun and so helpful as our business grows!
It will be such a joy to photograph this pair and provide them with professional photos to brag with and promote themselves as they go!
